The Work

As She Is

3 photographs

For generations, women have been taught that beauty must be performed to have value. This image gently rejects that idea. Surrounded by nature, the subject appears without makeup or pretence, embracing her ebony skin, natural hair, and authentic self.

It reminds us that beauty is not something to earn or transform into, but something that has always existed. In simply being herself, she embodies freedom, dignity, and quiet strength.
